AHC Web-site Updates

01.19 - 1.12.09 - Gift wrapping event got cancelled due to lack of volunteers. 3 new events: AHC open house, the Volunteer appreciation party and Seniors Recognition party. They all are on the same date - 10th December. The winter came to town and I'd take a chance to tell that this is a very good time to change to winter tires, if you haven't done so already ;). 

10.47 - 15.11.09 - Volunteers are needed for wrapping gifts for upcoming Christmas and New Year at Millwoods town centre. See giftwrap.htm for details.

00.41 - 18.09.09 - Poster for Creative Expressions is done. The fundraiser is coming up pretty soon, and some things are being rushed through. The poster you see on the web-site slightly differs from the original one, but no major changes were made.

11.45 - 01.09.09 - New event is out there. Check out Multicultural Gatherings page.

15.14 - 06.08.09 - New jobs are available for consideration

14.16 - 6.08.09 - New Volunteer opportunity... oh pizza is ready! *crunch-crunch*... uh... where was I... oh right. The volunteer opportunity is at the Creative Expressions, we need more forty or more volunteers for that event. I've been there last time (Chinese restaurant!) and in 2007 and I met a cute girl there ^_^ while selling the tickets for food. And after that, in 2007, I stayed 'till 1am because we needed to return the giant speakers to someone's garage. Ummm, the supper was just awesome. This year, I believe, the food is included with the price, and so, volunteers don't get away hungry from the event ;). Anyways. The recruiting ad has been posted to the Creative Expressions 2009 page.

2.11 - 6.08.09 - I just came back from British Columbia. Alberta welcomed me with chilly weather, fog and rain. Corn fest is coming up! Info added to Multicultural Gatherings page.

11.41 - 29.07.09 - Information about Creative Expressions is added. Technically, it shouldn't be there as my colleague said she would write an ad for it, but I've noticed that only after I began editing. The Summer camp link is removed. To access it, visit the reports page.

16.36 - 24.07.09 - The Main page updated with the training workshops link.

12.20 - 24.07.09 - The Calendar is updated. There's a bunch of new workshops coming up in fall.

10.47 - 24.07.09 - A new Annual Report is released. The staff can view the previous version here. The link for the 2007 AR from the About Us page is now linked directly to the Annual Reports page.

15.09 - 20.07.09 - Jobs page is updated. Check out the 6th Summer Latin Fest.

00.33 - 18.07.09 - Summer time at the AHC! Enjoy the summer and I will see you in September. If my fellow colleagues have stuff to update, please send it to my gmail-box ASAP.

01.26 - 9.07.09 - The word document about the summer camp have been added. I personally recommend this camp to anyone who's going to 10th, 11th or 12th grade... There was so much fun! I've attended the summer camp in 2007, and we went swimming, bowling, to the Valley Zoo; we were drawing, making things out of clay, wax-painting... and much more. I've heard that for the last year's summer camp AHC was providing bus tickets to get from home to the camp location! I believe this year they will do the same.

Note, though, that the word document is docx, so if you still use Office 2003 (most of us do) you'll need to download a File Format Converter.

18.03 - 25.06.09 - Annual Reports page created. New annual report is available for downloading. Sitemap updated.

02.54 - 25.06.09 - A note about the Annual General Meeting has been moved to the Reports page.

21.31 - 24.06.09 - Old header image was replaced by another one, similar to the one you might have seen in 2008. Disclaimer: the bird on the old version was intended to be a symbol of summer, and not anything else.

13.35 - 23.06.09 - Image for African Heritage Gathering replaced.

16.34 - 22.06.09 - Annual General Meeting info added. Info about African Heritage Cultural Gathering is added to Multicultural Gatherings page.

19.39 - 11.06.09 - Info about past events removed. Report page has been created. It's not "officially" released yet.

04.19 - 14.05.09 - A page for Youth Create Action Festival has been created. The sitemap has been updated.

23.35 - 8.05.09 - A sitemap has been created.

19.01 - 8.05.09 - A custom 404 page has been created to avoid some frustration.

12.16 - 5.05.09 - Another new position is available. An event coming up on Saturday May 16th.

15.41 - 4.05.09 - A new position is available. Visit the Jobs page for details.

04.49 - 2.05.09 - A major update to the home page, volunteer opportunities page, information sessions page and Community Action Dash 2009 page. The last one is a new one, made for promoting the event.

12.24 - 1.05.09 - The AHC is recruiting for the volunteers for the DASH 2009. I honestly thought that the DASH is gone because of my own typo but it's really is in May! I greatly apologize for confusion. Also AHC is recruiting for the Volunteer Receptionists. Volunteering for AHC is lots of fun (to be honest, I got involved because I was told there is free pizza at every meeting. And there is!).

Also I would like to welcome our new Volunteer Training Coordinator and Administrative Assistant Jayne. Stay tuned, more updates coming up!

15.40 - 20.04.09 - . I haven't been here for a while. Looks that the winter finally walked away, and that was a great reason to replace the top picture with our logo and the navigation links' little images.

09.04 - 6.02.09 - Strategic Plan is replaced by the current one in the About Us section; A new newsletter is released. There's an image of Yours Truly in that newsletter! : ) and others, too. I was trying to make a Ryuk piñata.

00.17 - 30.12.08 Navigation is improved, Calendar updated, Community Dialogue page is now having embed videos. And it's snowing outside...

04.26 - 25.12.08 The Guideline pages restored.

01.53 - 25.12.08 The Album page restored. Photo Gallery is a separate section.

01.06 - 25.12.08 The Sessions of the World Cafe should be working fine now.

01.12 - 24.12.08 A June newsletter finally arrived... It is a bit late but hey, we all need a little bit of summer in the weather like this, eh? There are some new jobs available and there is a new program coming up this January. For more info check the Youth page. And lastly - there was a typo in the Contact us page which is now corrected. Merry Christmas everyone!

15.28 - 26.11.08 The old pages in the World Cafe are now hidden (you will receive error 404). "Section 3 - Planning" is now available. Also there was a little clean-up...

2.13 - 31.10.08 - Some of the World Cafe's pages were redesigned. Sessions 1 and 2, "Sessions" and Feedback. Not very much but I just want to wish everyone here happy Halloween! =)

17.03 - 9.10.08 - The World Cafe page is temporarily closed for reconstruction. The links are not working correctly because only the MenuofSessions page has been changed. If you want to access the old page, here is the link (Recommended for staff only use).

11.20 - 26.09.08 - An update on the Training Workshops page. Now the bad news and the good news. Bad news - the Workshops page was infected with a trojan. Good news - the trojan is dead. The bug in code has been removed so no more worries, BUT I strongly advise you to run an anti-virus scan if you haven't done it for the past 2 years... There are some free versions of anti-viruses in Web, and they still quite effective. Sorry for any inconvenience.

14.14 - 16.09.08 - Finally figured out what was wrong with the width in IE7. Also the updates has been moved from Education to a separate page.

23.19 - 10.09.08 - the Large Hadron Collider has been successfully tested. Well, the Earth and the rest of the universe are still there, so why not make some updates while we're still alive  :-) ? First of all, the info about STARs has been removed because it's 10th September.. Can someone send me a report (or whatever you can call it) of what actually happened at the STARs? I didn't get a chance to participate. I heard that the Mayor has been there...

The blog of updates someday will be moved to a separate page because this one is most likely to be filled in with something more appropriate. (note: the updating log used to be located right on Educational Materials page)

5.34 - 28.07.08 - Now all pages of the site (except World Cafe, but that's a different story) have the same width and the same width of the logo. I don't have yet a "multiple-page text replacing tool" so it takes some time...

4.53 - 28.07.08 - All navigation buttons are now have same smooth font. Also I made another version of the logo right above so it would fit to the new width of the page. It used to be 700x81, and now - 1000x81. As you can see, the logo on some pages is looking kind of... squished. That's because on every single page there's a piece of code that says that the logo must fit 700x81.

2.14 - 28.07.08 - 8 done, 8 to go... I am talking about navigation buttons you see on the left. I have all memory jammed with music, firefox, IE, Dreamweaver, and I am afraid my poor comp won't handle photopaint in addition to all that. So I'm just making new font 'n color on the buttons in Paint and looking how it fits the site design.

00.12 - 28.07.08 - Beginning to make the site "wider". P align=left class="style10">5.07.08 A web-site counter added to the home page. It's just stats about which OS people use, what country they're from, which browser do they use to adjust the web-site for them

Long ago - Feedback form added for the World Cafe - currently, it's a form for sending feedback by e-mail. You can contact the management anytime via this form.

LLong ago - Header image on the top is updated.

Very Long ago - A forum has been created. Check it out! I registered it just in case someday we'll need it... people still prefer to talk by phone 'n e-mails...
